Confrérie de la Chantepleure:

Founded by Charles Vavasseur, the Confrérie (or brotherhood) de la Chantepleure dates back to 1937. The Chevaliers de la Chantepleure are the keepers of Touraine’s art of living and promoters of the region’s wines, particularly those from Vouvray, and gastronomy.
The brotherhood currently has several thousand members and is represented throughout the world, its motto being, “Je réjois les cœurs” – I gladden the heart!

Confrérie des Goûteux de Bernache, Vouvray

The Confrérie des Goûteux de Bernache have made it their mission to spread the word about Bernache (a new wine produced from Chenin Blanc or Pineau de la Loire grapes grown on the hillsides of Vouvray). The association was founded in 1989 and sings the praises of our fine terroir in green and brown dress. Bernache is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday in November every year.
